Sylvester is a Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of Plain Sight Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm investing in pre-seed to seed-stage B2B SaaS startups led by founders with strong product backgrounds. In addition to overseeing firm operations and leading investments, he works closely with founders to develop and execute strategies for early validation. Sylvester is also a co-founder of Zero Vector Ventures, a venture studio where he focuses on leading strategy and innovation. With over 20 years of experience in technology and startups, Sylvester brings a deep understanding of the technical, design, and product challenges that early-stage founders face, as well as a track record of implementing frameworks for rapid early validation. Before co-founding Plain Sight Capital and Zero Vector Ventures, Sylvester was the founder and CEO of Coded by:, a tech and startup education organization, where he grew the organization from a local education initiative to a nationally recognized leader in tech and startup education. Sylvester was also previously an entrepreneur-in-residence with Osage Venture Partners, an entrepreneur-in-residence at Temple University, an investor-in-residence with TechStars, and a screener with TechStars. His tech career began in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, spanning over 20 years, and he has held roles ranging from freelance web developer to CEO and CTO, and is now an investor. Sylvester holds a degree in Business with a concentration in finance from Temple University's Fox School of Business. Publications, including Forbes and Business Insider, have recognized his work. The Philadelphia Business Journal recognized Sylvester as one of Philadelphia’s 100 most influential people. He’s received numerous awards, including the 2018 Philadelphia Award, the University City Science Center Nucleus Cultivator Award, and the Philadelphia Business Journal Tech Disruptor Award, among many others. Sylvester is also a veteran of the United States military. During his time in the military, he served in three branches (U.S. Marine Corps, Pennsylvania Air National Guard, and Pennsylvania Army National Guard) over 12 years.
